Is this self-paced, or are there live calls?
Fully self-paced. Every lesson is pre-recorded and yours for life, and you can start the moment you enroll. If you want time with Philip directly, there’s an optional 1-on-1 add-on you can pick up from your dashboard after you’re in.
How long is the course?
27 lessons across 5 modules — about 1h 45m in total, averaging three and a half minutes a lesson. It's short because it's dense: this is the working version of a course Philip taught live four times, with the throat-clearing cut out. The homework is where the hours go.
Are there different tiers or levels?
No. There’s one course at one price and nothing is locked. The editing technique that makes the look and the client, pricing and marketing lessons that make it a business are the same purchase — splitting them would have meant selling half a workflow.
What gear do I need?
Module 01 covers Philip’s exact kit — a Nikon Z7 II, a 50mm, a Profoto A10 and a softbox — and gives a budget alternative for every line item, Godox included. The gear guide that ships with the course carries the model numbers and links. You do not need his exact setup to get the look; you need the light in the right place, which is its own lesson.
What software does the edit use?
Lightroom and Photoshop for the edit, Photo Mechanic for culling, and a client gallery platform for delivery (Philip uses Pic-Time, but the lesson teaches the approach so it works with whatever you already pay for). The Troveman Heirloom preset — colour and black-and-white — is included as a download.
I don’t have a baby to photograph. Can I still do the assignments?
Yes. Philip’s practice RAWs ship with the course — the same frames he culls, proofs and edits on screen through Modules 03 and 04. You can work the identical file alongside him and compare your result to his, then run your own session when you have one lined up.
How long do I have access?
Lifetime. The lessons and downloads are yours once you enroll, and any lessons added later are free to you — no second purchase, no upgrade path.
What’s your refund policy?
A 14-day money-back guarantee. As long as you've watched less than 30% of the course, request a refund within 14 days and you get the full amount back, no hard feelings. Your dashboard shows exactly how much you've watched, so there's no guessing on either side.
How do I pay?
A single one-time payment through Stripe — secure checkout, all major cards. No subscription, no recurring fees, no payment plan to forget about.
Can the heirloom setup be used for other kinds of photography?
Yes — the same light works for headshots, food and restaurant work, and older subjects; only the edit changes. Philip covers the lighting principle well enough in Module 01 that it transfers, and deeper lessons on adjacent work are on the roadmap as a free addition for everyone already enrolled.
